HEL's Great Crested Newt Mitigation Receives Media Attention

HEL have developed a mitigation package to protect Scotland's largest population of great crested newt on behalf of Banks Property.  Mitigation measures include the provision of amphibian road underpasses, as well as extensions to Gartcosh Local Nasture Reserve (LNR), which is owned and managed by North Lanarkshire Council.  This project has recently received media attention, including articles in the Scotsman and BBC News website.  Scott Knowles, HEL Senior Ecologist, also appeared on BBC Radio Scotland Newsdrive and Reporting Scotland to explain part of the mitigation measures.  See more, including publication links, at:
