Falkirk Council Biodiversity Management Plans

Falkirk Council own/part own a network of locally designated sites of ecological value, including both Wildlife Sites (WSs) and Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINCs). The designation of these sites aims to protect key areas of ecologically valuable habitat across the Falkirk Council area.

HEL have produced 10 year Biodiversity Management Plans to protect and enhance the biodiversity of a number of the Council’s designated sites.  Working in consultation with Council ecologists we verified the ecological baseline of each site via walkover surveys and a review of existing information.  We then detailed actions required to achieve management objectives for each site with due regard to conservation and recreational/educational requirements.  Each site biodiversity management plan also included a detailed timetable of management objectives and figures highlighting key features/areas, and management units/proposals.
