Wind Farms throughout Scotland

HEL have undertaken a range of ornithological and ecological studies for a number of wind farms throughout Scotland on behalf of Banks Renewables. This has included surveys and assessments for a suite of bird species; protected mammals; vegetation and flora; amphibians; reptiles; fish and freshwater pearl mussel.

The production of Ornithology and Ecology Chapters for wind farm Environmental Statements has included the development of novel mitigation measures, often in consultation with SNH, SEPA and Local Authorities. Mitigation measures have been developed for a range of ecological receptors, in particular for habitats, birds and bats.

We have also developed a number of management plans to accompany the ES chapters, including those targeted at restoration and enhancement of habitats.
